$5.6 Million
26,000 sqft
Owner: Albany County Hospital Board
Architect: H+L Architecture, Ltd.
This 26,000 sf Meredith and Jeannie Ray Cancer Center Addition in Laramie includes medical offices and patient treatment rooms. Not only was this project intense due to the location of the addition on the hospital, this project also included a 21 MeV linear accelerator, which required 7'-6" thick concrete walls. Groathouse performed the concrete work with our own forces and broke our record for one of the longest concrete pours in the history of Groathouse Construction. It took 24 hours to pour the concrete walls that now surround the Linear Accelerator in the Oncology Center. Additionally, we managed system and building tie-ins to ensure no disruption to on-going hospital operations.
"Your professional staff, both in the office and the field, your effective coordination and understanding of other hospital department operations, and your effective communication with our community customers has contributed to the highest level of success." - Lance Mendiola, Project Manager/Owner Representative
