Worland HS Weight Room & Admin Area Renovation
Projects in school facilities often require strict time restrictions and careful coordination around daily activities and occupants. This was true for this school renovation in Worland WY, which included updates to the 5,000 sf weight room and the 2,400 sf administration area. Both spaces required full abatement, which our team managed prior to construction. Work began just before summer break, making site safety and security a top priority.
The weight room renovation included full demolition of interior walls and fixtures, followed by framing for a new shop and storage area, training room, and electrical room. Finishes included a new rubberized floor for equipment, a new ceiling, paint, lighting, and plumbing for a restroom.
The administrative area, located on the opposite end of the facility, also involved selective demolition, including removal of a full-height vault structure with 8-inch concrete walls. Safely removing this structure in a confined space was the most challenging part of the project. After demolition, our team framed new walls, added several restrooms and an HVAC system, installed new lighting, painted, and completed additional finishes.
Shortly after students returned from summer break, the renovated spaces were ready for staff and student use.
