Sweetwater County Public Works Combined Facility Renovation

Sweetwater County Public Works Combined Facility Renovation

This project involved the renovation of two existing pre-engineered metal buildings on a new campus for Sweetwater County, designed to create a more streamlined and efficient hub for Public Works operations. Groathouse Construction’s work demonstrates our expertise in government facility renovation in Wyoming, covering approximately 45,000 sf of selective demolition, replacement of metal panels, comprehensive cleaning of all remaining panels, and extensive interior upgrades across both facilities.

The first structure, totaling 25,750 sf, was renovated to serve as a new Engineering and Operations Building. Upgrades included MEP improvements, such as a new electrical system, outlets and lighting upgrades, and installation of a new heater and two A/C units. Interior renovations included offices, kitchen, restrooms, and locker rooms with new finishes, ceilings, and flooring, as well as replacement of stairways to meet ADA requirements.

The second structure, 17,765 sf, was converted into a Fleet & Vehicle Maintenance Building, with MEP upgrades including new electrical panels, upgraded light fixtures, hydronic piping, infrared heaters in the warehouse, and new wet/dry fire suppression. Additional work included new water and sewer lines, replacement and re-leveling of sealed concrete flooring, 7,000 sf of new concrete slabs with a snowmelt system, a new carport, and a 1,500 sf addition for tire storage. Interior improvements included three new offices, one new restroom, and remodels of two existing offices and one restroom with updated finishes, ceilings, and flooring.

This renovation highlights Groathouse Construction’s ability to deliver high-quality government facility renovation projects in Wyoming, creating modern, efficient, and functional spaces for public sector operations.
